Somerset Bridal is committed to making sure that every bride, whatever her physical needs, sensory requirements or personal circumstances, feels genuinely welcome, fully supported and completely at ease from the moment she gets in touch with us.

Getting Here

Both our Boutique and our Outlet are located at 47-49 Alcombe Road, Minehead, Somerset TA24 6BB. The Number 28 bus stops directly opposite both stores making us easily reachable without a car. There is a free layby directly outside the shops and plenty of street parking in the surrounding roads for those travelling by car.

Physical Access

Both stores are step-free with level access from the street directly into the shop floor. Our entire operation is on the ground floor throughout and there are no stairs, steps or ramps required at any point during your visit. Our doorways comfortably accommodate wheelchairs and mobility aids and we have been pleased to welcome many brides who use wheelchairs and other mobility equipment.

Both our Boutique and Outlet changing rooms are large, private and fully accessible for wheelchair users, with plenty of space to move comfortably and assistance available whenever it is needed.

We have a toilet on site that is easily reachable from the shop floor. Please note that it does not currently have grab rails or full wheelchair access and we want to be transparent about this. We are actively looking at how we can improve this and apologise for any inconvenience in the meantime.

Guide dogs and registered assistance animals are warmly welcome in both stores.

Appointment Adaptations

We understand that no two brides have the same needs and we will always do our very best to make your appointment work for you. The following adaptations are available to every bride. Simply let us know what you need in your pre-appointment questionnaire or get in touch with us directly before you book.

Extended appointments are available for brides who need more time, at no additional charge. Rest breaks can be taken at any point during your appointment without any pressure or time limit. We are experienced in working with brides who cannot stand for long periods and can adapt the entire appointment so that it is comfortable for you. A carer or support worker is always welcome to attend in addition to your other guests and does not count toward your guest allowance.

For brides who find busy or stimulating environments difficult we offer quieter, lower-stimulation appointments. Simply mention this in your questionnaire and we will make sure everything is prepared to suit you before you arrive.

Before Your Appointment

Every bride who books with Somerset Bridal receives a pre-appointment questionnaire. This is your opportunity to tell us anything at all that will help us look after you properly, including physical access requirements, sensory needs, emotional support, specific concerns or anything else you would like us to know. Nothing you share will surprise us and everything you tell us will be treated with complete discretion and respect.

If you would prefer not to have a phone or video call before your appointment that is absolutely fine. We are equally happy to communicate everything by email or WhatsApp. Just let us know in your questionnaire and we will follow your lead throughout.

Our stylists have experience working with brides with a wide range of physical disabilities, mobility needs, skin conditions, burns and specific emotional requirements.
